The Movies 05:03
What did you think I wouldn't do? I'm playing in all these movies with you. It's my name up on the marquee after all. And the title’s Can't We All Just Get Along. The kitchen sink, I threw it at you. But that doesn't mean what you think it do. I'm just sayin I tried it all, and all wasn’t enough. It's a shame when all the know-how ain't stacking up. Did you even want the part? Or are you just here to make a scene? Now we're all suffering for our art. Broken hearts, silver screen. You shouldn't blink. You should just see it through. It's not what you think. Its just you being you. It's the way, the truth and the light and it's all at once. And it might be over before it even starts. Did you even want the part? Or are you just here to make a scene? Now we're all suffering for our art. Broken hearts, silver screen. You're such a fink But I'm stuck with you. Couldn't wash off your stink If I wanted to. (c) 2015 Jeff Campbell Music ASCAP

Holding up the sky and stealing looks Baby look at you, you're a monument. Welcome to the world little one, start taking in. If right about the time you can feel it cook, You're skipping to the end of all your books How will you know how you made all your friends? You can always leave the places And throw away the things Forget about the faces That don't mean anything But you'll always be one of us. And we'll always give you all our love. But don't forget to fill the spaces. Ever the climb but the dealing's good Nobody’ll ever think you would. Least of all you, but here we are today. Cradle all the ones you know you should.    Never know when they'll be gone for good A moment's a memory almost right away. Never mind the angels all around   They're there to catch you, when you fall down And fall down, you will. But you can't grow without. Move along and do so as you would. Your soul is your map so feed it good. It's the only one you got so don't give it away (c) 2015 JeffCampbellMusic ASCAP

Jail 04:50
You were light on your toes And we watched your garden grow Now you're falling all over And the weeds just come and go as they please Remember when there was a glow And the fear just didn’t show Remember we would talk it over But now I can't get you on the phone Because you're in jail. Epic fail. Oh no. I let go. When I was supposed to be there. So long. Something's wrong And I can't make you care. There's a way that you can go. That'll take you somewhere new. Or a place to call your home. Maybe one you already knew, that isn’t jail. Your taillights. Like bright little red eyes. Smaller and smaller and into the night   All eyes on you like somebody died Hoping maybe this summer’s the one you'll get it right. Maybe the boat that you missed will come back to your shore and forgive you some. Let you onboard and then take you from here. Or maybe there ain't enough metaphors left in the world caused we've used them all trying to make this better than it is. Oh no. I let go. When I was supposed to be there. So long. Something's wrong And I can't make you care. It's a funny thing, your soul If you feed it, it'll grow. But I swear Ill never know   What yours is hungry for Cause it seems like jail. You'll concede. Say, "honestly. This could be the death of me". But I've seen. And so I believe. It won't mean the end of things. Fall in love. Fall apart. It won't end how it starts. Fits like a glove around your heart. And then you start to wonder if it really matters But you know it never really did at all. And then you're picking up the pieces from the shatter And you're moving on. Say you wait Another day And then a week gets away. You won't change a single thing Because what's the use, anyway? Fall in love. Fall apart. It won't end how it starts. Fits like a glove around your heart. Until it don't. And then you start to wonder if it really matters But you know it never really did at all. And then you're picking up the pieces from the shatter And you're moving on. What a shame. Nowhere to place all your precious blame You need a face and a name But if it's all the same. Did you ever think the one you're seeing in the mirror Is the one you been looking for all along? And now you're seeing and it can't get any clearer. And you're moving on. Reposado 04:17
You won't cry. And all I wanna know is why. It's not like I didn't try. And you got your achy bod and your reposado. And I… Well I sold it good, didn't I? Think I fooled even myself this time And now we're taking the empty bottles of reposado and lining em up just right. Cause it's target practice tonight. This is the part when the dice, they start to roll. A new surprise around every turn you know Who has their feet nailed to the floor? Who can't just run right out the door?                                             Who thinks it's time for one more? Breathe a sigh. I'm telling the truth when I lie. And all my excuses are why We're fine now, but after the Umteenth bottle, then down I go.   This is the part when the dice, they start to roll. A new surprise around every turn you think you know. Who has their feet nailed to the floor? Who can't just run right out the door? We're bearing down for a long night But who doesn't love a sunrise? But it's thunder now and we're tying keys to the kite. Land sakes alive I fall when I'm way up high. But now I can start on the climb (c) 2015 JeffCampbellMusic ASCAP

It’s good to wonder now and then You can feel your way It's good to wish and to pretend And be led astray. Then when you come back around And you will someday You can teach what you know now And we'll be into change All the roads you're on have led to this one. And with the battle won, you're ready for the war. And when you're who you are you'll know that it's done   And that no one here was ever keeping score There's ways to tackle everything And sometimes in a day But mostly takes a life to build what we put on display Then when you come back around And you will again You'll see the brightest thing you've found Has always been there your head Something for everyone to read My lines are soaking in Always turning,  I'm still coming short My lines are soaking in (c) 2015 JeffCampbellMusic ASCAP/Frankengoose Music BMI

Overboard 04:10
We're ready when you are, so lets move on. I could sit here forever wondering on what went wrong. I've been overboard, swimming for the shore And it’s feeling like too long. The letters I write build into a pile. The wind blows and they're gone. And if that's the best that you can do, lets move on. The places you've been don't hold candles to where you can't go. And my dear, you'll have to stand awhile in the rain to see the rainbows. And if that's the best that you can do, lets move on. Show me the rest of what you'll go through and I'll be gone. And would it make more sense now if I took the time to mention that somethings always wrong? And if thats the best that you can do.... (c) 2007 JeffCampbellMusic ASCAP

You never know. You never will. You can't buy a better thrill. Even all the way from home Your good excuse never showed. And all the faking in the world will never make a perfect girl so don't you try The pressure's on. Another year is making sure we know it's here and will fly by. Good enough. Well good luck. It never stays long enough. Reaching for the harder stuff. Foundation could use some. And all the graceful in the world will never make a perfect girl so don't you fawn. All the things you need so you can blame your curiosity, I'll go in on. There's one guy keeping a eye on the door And another guy filling his pockets with all your stuff. You're one goodbye away from the floor And drawing your finger pictures in the dust. (c) 2015 JeffCampbellMusic ASCAP
